Contents: The Birchbox theme this month is 'tiny tweaks, big results'.

Birchbox April 2013

My box included 6 items (4 items & 2 extras).

Unboxing the April 2013 Birchbox

1. Nexxus youth renewal rejuvenating elixir, 0.14 oz

Full size cost: $20.99
Sample cost: $2.99

How it works (from Birchbox):
"Moisture is your biggest ally when it comes to fighting the battle against breakage. This rejuvenating elixir is packed with some of nature’s best hydrators, including argan and soybean oils. Keratin and wheat protein add strength and shampoo commercial-worthy bounciness."

2. Skin & Co Roma cleansing body gel, 2 oz

Full size cost: $17.50
Sample cost: $4.14

How it works (from Birchbox):
"Especially well-suited to sensitive skin, the Cleansing Body Gel is made with super hydrating olive oil. Naturally purifying orange extracts remove toxins and restore skin to its natural balance. The Intensive Body Gel replenishes dry skin and leaves behind a light floral scent. It contains organic rosemary extract, a natural anti-inflammatory, to soothe away irritation and calm redness. Meanwhile, nettle extracts boost circulation and deliver a refreshing experience."

3. StriVectin-SD eye concentrate for wrinkles, 0.25 oz

Full size cost: $65
Sample cost: $16.25

How it works (from Birchbox):
"A patented molecule called NIA-114+ promotes the production of collagen and elastin, thus reducing the appearance of crow’s feet and the dreaded dark circles."

4. Youngblood anti-shine mattifier, 0.05 oz

Full size cost: $36
Sample cost: $7.20

How it works (from Birchbox):
"The long-lasting, dense formula soaks up excess surface oil and imparts a flattering, soft-focus finish. Don’t be afraid of the balm’s nigella and pumpkin seed oils—rather than adding shine, they soothe, calm, and repair your complexion."

Extra: Weleda body lotion, 3 packets, 0.13 fl oz each

Full size cost: $16.50
Sample cost: $0.95

How it works (from Birchbox):
"Made with organic pomegranate seed oil, the antioxidant-rich Pomegranate Regenerating lotion speeds up cell renewal and helps increase skin’s elasticity. The satiny Wild Rose Pampering lotion is made with rosehip seed oil and organic jojoba seed oil to keep skin soft and calm irritation. The creamy Sea Buckthorn Replenishing Body Lotion relies on a combination of organic mallow extracts, shea butter, and macadamia seed oil. Bonus: each nutrient-packed cream eschews artificial preservatives and parabens."
