Conscious Box - Vegan Box May 2013 Review

This May Vegan Conscious box review is quite delayed. Once again, I was slightly disappointed in the Conscious box contents. I thought that this May Vegan box was not as good as my April Vegan box. I procrastinated while writing this review because I prefer to not write negative reviews on products and subscription boxes. However, I reasoned that it would be helpful for readers to see the contents of the May Vegan Conscious box to determine if this subscription box is a good fit for their lifestyle. These opinions are solely my own and keep in mind that the same products/subscription box may have been loved by others.

Google Reader Will Be Closing Down - Please Follow On BlogLovin'

Google Reader will be closing down on July 1, so this is a PSA that you may need an alternative platform to read your favorite blogs. 

I follow many beauty blogs and I use Bloglovin' to easily catch up on new posts. I was lucky enough to win a Bonjour Jolie giveaway from Ramblings of a Suburban Mom! Bonjour Jolie is a mother-daughter company that provides discrete, monthly period subscription boxes for women. You get to select 30 of your favorite feminine products - including tampons, pads and pantyliners. Bonjour Jolie carries mainstream brands like Tampax, Kotex and Always as well as lesser known brands such as Softcup and NatraCare. In addition to the feminine products, Bonjour Jolie also includes edible and non-edible goodies to pamper yourself. A monthly subscription is only $16 plus shipping and handling ($5 in the US and $10 in Canada).

Birchbox June 2013 Review

Contents: The Birchbox theme this month is 'Wanderlust'. My box included 6 items (4 items & 2 extras). I love the new design of the Birchbox - the logo color on the lid has been changed from pink to white and the inside of the box has a cute chevron pattern!

Travel Essentials!

We are currently on vacation in San Francisco. San Francisco is one of my favorite US destinations because it has terrific food, culture and people. I brought the following items in my travel bag for the week-long trip. 

Skincare Stash: Serums Inventory

This post is solely on my stash of serums. Check out my stash of facial cleansers and toners. I'll write separate posts for exfoliators, masks, moisturizers and other skincare products. For reference, I have acne-prone combination-oily skin. 

Serums are concentrated, specialized skin care products. Serums contain smaller molecules than moisturizers. So, compared to moisturizers, serums can penetrate deeper layers of skin. Finally, serums can address specific skin concerns such as fine lines, hyperpigmentation and decreased collagen.   

I apply a serum after cleaning and applying toner to my face, both in the morning and evening. I favor serums that address hyper-pigmentation and dullness.
